Who can use BlackGiant Hub
BlackGiant Hub is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to sign up, and we ask your date of birth once to check it. We do not keep your date of birth — only the fact that you confirmed being an adult, and when. If you tell us you are under 18, the date is not saved at all.
Who is responsible for your data
BlackGiant Hub is operated by BlackGiant Hub (business registration in progress), serving members in Ghana and the United States. The country the business is registered in will be named here once registration is complete. For anything to do with your personal data, write to btontoh1876@gmail.com. Postal address available on request by email.
What we collect
Your phone number, which is how you sign in. Your name, and anything else you choose to add to your profile: a photo, a short bio, your profession and industry, your fitness interests, and what you are looking for or can offer. Which clubs you belong to and your role in each. The messages you send, the events you say you are attending, and which announcements you have confirmed reading. Basic technical information needed to deliver notifications to your phone.
Why we collect it
To let you sign in, to show you to other members of the clubs you have joined, to deliver announcements, chat and event reminders, and to let club administrators manage their membership. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your name and profile are visible to members of the clubs you belong to, and to nobody else. Your phone number and email address are hidden by default — they are only shown to your club-mates if you switch that on yourself, and a club administrator cannot see them either until you do. Clubs are kept completely separate: a member or administrator of one club cannot see anything belonging to another.
Where it is stored
On Supabase, which hosts the database in London, United Kingdom (eu-west-2). There is no Supabase data centre in Ghana or in the United States that we use, so wherever you are your data is processed in another country — for Ghanaian members, under the safeguards Act 843 requires for taking data abroad.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile and contact details within 30 days. Messages you posted in a club chat may remain visible to that club as part of the conversation, shown without your name, and a club's record of how many people came to one of its events keeps counting you — without naming you — because that is the club's history rather than yours.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, withdraw your consent, or have your account and data deleted. Use the settings in the app or write to btontoh1876@gmail.com. There are step-by-step instructions on our account deletion page. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, members in Ghana may complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission, and members in the United States may have a route to complain under the privacy law of the state they live in.
Text messages
Text messages are not switched on yet. When they are, you will be able to receive a sign-in code by SMS instead of WhatsApp, and clubs will be able to send important announcements and event reminders that way. Standard charges from your network may apply. Sending a text means giving your number to the company that delivers it, so we will name that company here before switching it on.
You can sign in by sending us a one-time code on WhatsApp instead of receiving a text message. If you do, WhatsApp tells us the number the message came from so we can check it matches the number you entered, and that is all we keep from it — the code and the attempt are deleted within minutes. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and its own privacy policy applies to the message while it is in WhatsApp. We never message you first.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or why, we will ask you to agree again the next time you open the app.
